YOUR EAGLE SYNDROME SURGERY

Having Eagle Syndrome (ES) and trying to find the right surgeon to remove your styloid can be quite stressful. The removal of the styloid is a very delicate procedure with serious potential risks. Most surgeons have little to no experience with treating Eagle Syndrome. Dr. Osborne has a proven track record of regularly performing styloid resections without complication and with a cosmetically appealing outcome. We understand that it is often inconvenient, time-consuming and expensive for patients to fly to our Los Angeles office for a consultation, then fly back again at a later time for surgery. We have designed a program to facilitate your experience that will allow you to determine the best options available to you from the comfort of your home.

SEND RECORDS / EXAMS

If you have any pertinent medical records, they can be sent by mail or email. All CT scans of the head and neck should be included.

If you are requesting records from your physician’s office to send to Dr. Osborne, you may fill out this form and submit it to your physician’s office.

OBTAIN AN EVALUATION

After a comprehensive review of your history, symptoms, and medical records Dr. Osborne will discuss with you the feasibility of styloid surgery. Many patients are not good candidates for styloid resection. If surgery is deemed right for you a surgery coordinator will contact you and discuss scheduling, costs, preoperative and postoperative care.

SCHEDULE YOUR PROCEDURE

Once you have decided to proceed, we will reserve your surgery date.

READ, INITIAL, AND SIGN

After you have selected your surgery date we will send via secure email preoperative surgery instructions. All documents must be read carefully and all instructions followed. After you have read the instructions you must sign and initial the packet and return to us prior to your in office preoperative visit.

EMBASSY / VISA INFORMATION

If you are traveling from outside of the U.S. please contact your prospective Bureau of Consular Affairs for assistance on obtaining a travel visa. Please allow ample time approximately 2-4 weeks prior to your procedure for paperwork to be processed by the U.S. State Department and your government consulate. FLY IN FOR SURGERY

Our local international airport is LAX. We are located approximately 1 mile (1.5 km), 10 minutes from LAX. You MUST arrive one to two days prior to your surgery date. At a designated time during this period you will meet with the doctor(s) and have an in-depth consultation discussing your procedure. HOTELS

Hotels located close to our office are the most convenient for appointments, surgery, and follow-up. You may choose to stay at any hotel located near LAX and you will be in close proximity to our office.

RECOVERY

We ask all patients that fly-in for surgery to plan to stay in Los Angeles two days after their procedure in a local hotel or aftercare facility, thus ensuring convenience for any required medical attention.
