“Going into this procedure I understood just how dangerous it was due to surrounding vital structures. I wanted to ensure I had the best possible surgeon for the highest optimal outcome. Dr. Osborne was the man and he executed the styloidectomy flawlessly.”

canada eagles syndrome treatment

I am so grateful for the Osborne Head & Neck Institute. I am alive today only because of Dr. Osborne.

I struggled for many years with a vast assortment of symptoms. I saw countless specialists and endured many tests without any explanation. After three years of frustration I travelled to the US from Canada. The doctors in the US did in three hours what the Canadian health care system couldn’t do in three years. After finally being diagnosed with Eagle Syndrome and jugular vein compression I was referred to OHNI.
I reached out to Dr. Osborne expecting it to take months to receive a response but to my disbelief he called me the very next day! The first time speaking with him I felt very comforted by his understanding and compassion for my condition and struggle. He gave me guidance and most importantly hope for the future.

The staff was very informative and prompt with communication. I was able to message Dr. Osborne on the OHNI app and receive a phone response within 12-24 hours. Dr. Osborne is a very busy surgeon so I was always in disbelief when he made the time to speak with me.
We did a video call where I had a complete emotional breakdown about my physical state. My symptoms provided zero quality of life, they were debilitation and overwhelming. My health was rapidly declining at a staggering rate and I had lost all hope; I was depressed and suicidal. When Dr. Osborne saw me during that video call he said he’d change his schedule to get me in immediately.

A couple weeks later I flew to LA for a styloidectomy. My interactions with the staff were warm and welcoming. I met Dr. Osborne at my pre op appointment the day prior to my surgery. I can’t explain the comforting energy of sitting in his presence. He has a kindness and compassion towards all of his patients, he genuinely wants to help them.

In the health care industry I have met many doctors, particularly surgeons who have atrocious arrogance and a god complex; not Dr. Osborne. He is one of the most humble, down to earth people I have ever met. He has a way about him that instils confidence in his capabilities. I knew I was in the best possible hands for this procedure and I felt overwhelming peace knowing he would be my surgeon.

The morning of my surgery was very calm and easy thanks to the carefully curated surgical staff and anesthesiologist. The staff had the ideal temperaments and assertiveness that ensures a smooth procedure. There was never a moment I wasn’t informed what was transpiring.
Going into this procedure I understood just how dangerous it was due to surrounding vital structures. I wanted to ensure I had the best possible surgeon for the highest optimal outcome. Dr. Osborne was the man and he executed the styloidectomy flawlessly.

Upon waking I instantly felt an improvement. My migraine and brain fog were gone, my intracranial hypertension decreased, I could feel my pulse and blood flow in my extremities and my postural tachycardia and hypotension improved immensely. Dr. Osborne said this is the only surgery you wake up from and instantly feel better.

My post op went great. Dr. Osborne was always thorough and never rushed with me. He spoke with me and truly heard me. He shared knowledge and advice that impacted my life profoundly; in fact I think his words changed my life more than the surgery did. He’s a beautiful soul, the kind of person you wish you could be around often because being in his presence is special. I was sad to go but excited for my future for the first time in years.

During my recovery I was contacted many times by the clinic checking in to see how I was doing or if I needed anything. This was also a very pleasant surprise for me as it’s been my experience after surgery most doctors don’t seem to care about your existence anymore.

My surgery was 9 months ago and it’s quite apparent I need to return to LA to have a second styloidectomy on the opposite side of my neck. I know that when I do return I’ll be looking forward to the welcoming staff and a truly one in a million surgeon. If it weren’t for Dr. Osborne I would be long dead by now. This man is proof that angels walk among us.

Forever grateful,
K.M.

“I am eternally grateful for all you and your team have done for me and cannot thank you all enough for lifting me out of the lowest point in my life.”

Dr. Osborne and Team-

You saved my life. There is no other way to describe it. Less than a week ago, I came to you a shell, a husk of a human being, not only in constant pain, but in a spiral of despair and hopelessness. Now after surgery (and just a handful of days later might I add) I feel like I can finally breathe again, be happy again, and have hope again.

You truly are an angel walking among us. I wholeheartedly believe God put you here to help those who have lost all hope in their darkest of times. I am eternally grateful for all you and your team have done for me and cannot thank you all enough for lifting me out of the lowest point in my life.

Forever grateful,

“Thanks to Dr. Osborne I have my life back! The change is palpable and I’m filled with hope for the first time in a very long time. I couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome.”

I don’t know where to begin. I’ve had these nagging and pervasive symptoms for close to  15 years. After numerous exams etc. there was a hint of Eagles syndrome in my CTA scan. The discovery that issue was eye opening. It literally explains the many symptoms of the last decade, Being the prolific researcher that I am, I went all in and found as much information as I could.

I scheduled a Zoom consult with Dr. Osborne where I discovered the most patient and competent Dr. I’ve ever met. We talked for over an hour and he answered every question I had individually. He has been patient, kind, and humble he is extremely competent throughout my entire time under his care.

I wish I could express how grateful I am throughout it all I was at a crossroads in my life. Thanks to Dr. Osborne I have my life back! The change is palpable and I’m filled with hope for the first time in a very long time. I couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome.

Thanks again!!

“Dr. Osborne is not just a surgeon, he is my HERO who saved my life but most of all gave me my life back.”

Dr. Osborne and his staff are the most professional and caring people I have ever met. Dr. Osborne goes above and beyond to take care of his patients he never leaves your side. I am so glad that I traveled from Texas to Los Angeles, CA to receive the BEST healthcare possible. He understood everything regarding all my symptoms. He is the most patient doctor and listens to all my crazy concerns before and after surgery.

I would recommend Osborne and Team to everyone, family and friends. Dr. Osborne is not just a surgeon, he is my HERO who saved my life but most of all gave me my life back. I will never be able to thank or pay Dr. Osborne back for helping me recover after 9.5 years of hell and being told I was crazy, drug seeking, mis-diagnosed,12 unnecessary surgeries.  One piece of advice Dr. Osborne told me was every patient is different, everyone’s symptoms can be different, every surgery is different, and every recovery is different. Listen to your body and you can get well.

A BIG TEXAS THANK YOU!
To the Best Doctor, Hero, and friend.

“You have saved my life both literally and during the surgery. I cannot believe that such kind and empathetic doctors still exist.”

Thank you for this surgery and thank you for being the best doctor ever. I have always been an outdoor person and with my complications, I couldn’t do anything outdoorsy, or daring, or even chewing.  It had all taken me to a very dark place and I never thought that I would ever be able to get out of this. You have saved my life both literally and during the surgery. I cannot believe that such kind and empathetic doctors still exist.

You accommodated me in a very short time and treated me right away, especially during July 4th holidays, and I didn’t have to wait 6 months to talk to you like other medical doctors. You were extremely understanding of my fear of hospitals and your whole team including Carmen and Tami made it possible for me to go through the surgery so smoothly and quickly.

I can’t thank you enough for the good humor and for helping me breathe and calm down during the tube extraction. The only way  I have been able to gather the guys to do so and take a leap of faith is because of you. I had almost lost my life (or would have from the 61 mm bone), if it weren’t for you. Thank you for being the most awesome person and doctor ever. I will definitely invite you to a flight, when I have my license.

Again, thank you for being so cool and  inspiring!!! Please stay  in touch! I wish you the very best in everything you want to achieve and would be there to support you.

Hope you keep smiling always!

“It is truly a life changing experience.”

We cant thank you enough for what you have done to see the best possible outcome from Andrew’s surgery. It is truly a life changing experience. In the past week there have been so many “simple” wins. Andrew has cried tears of joy and relief, his body allowed him to sleep, he smiled authentically, he can eat a meal without fighting nausea, he can stand up and walk up stairs again, and we can hug him without causing him pain. Thank you!

“He is the best specialist for Eagles Syndrome. I highly recommend him.”

In 1985, I was diagnosed with TMJ problems. There are a lot of symptoms with TMJ. I had headaches, ear pain, ringing in the ears, difficulty swallowing, coughing, facial pain, dizziness, TIA’s and even strokes, jaw pain. Some of these symptoms worsened over the years. I went to several doctors and had several types of treatments to try to treat my TMJ issues to no avail.

In November of 2021, my then primary doctor ordered a CT scan of my facial bones. Report came back showing correlates to Eagles Syndrome. I had not heard of that and my primary did not look further into that at that time. I didn’t think about looking into that myself. It wasn’t until I found a TMJ specialist in Grapevine, Texas in August, 2023.

I decided to make appointment to see if that doctor could help me with my TMJ. Again, that doctor did x-rays, CT scans, MRI, did head tests, dental work up, pictures of me from all sides from neck to my head. Report came back correlating to Eagles Syndrome. I had remembered hearing that earlier. I went back in my medical records and found information from 2021. I googled Eagles Syndrome. Dr. Ryan Osborne’s name popped up immediately.

I decided to check Eagles Syndrome out. Sure enough, Eagles Syndrome does give you same symptoms as TMJ. I read quite a few testimonials on his website. After doing so, I called his office in Los Angeles and talked with Dr. Osborne. He told me to send my medical records to him to look over and then we would have a video conference.

On November 30, 2023 the video conference was held. I asked him if Eagles Syndrome would treat and cure my TMJ issues. He said to me, “You don’t have TMJ, you have Eagles Syndrome.” He said I needed surgery and that I had it on both sides of my neck. We discussed which side to do surgery and we both agreed on the left side.

Surgery was on April 17, 2024 in Los Angeles. I flew back to Dallas, Texas on April 19, 2024. I’m still recovering from my surgery but all my symptoms have gone away. If anyone has been diagnosed with TMJ, and still having pain from TMJ, please contact Dr. Ryan Osborne in Los Angeles. You may just have Eagles Syndrome. He is the best specialist for Eagles Syndrome. I highly recommend him.

“In the end, I remember waking up from surgery immediately feeling very different. Those were tears of Joy in the recovery room.”

Dr. Osborne you have absolutely changed my life! I had been suffering since 2010 with life altering symptoms from jugular compression that I know you are familiar with. 14 years later with zero answers here we are. Just before Thanksgiving I finally got out of my own way. Put my pride aside and asked God to point me in the right direction. 3 days later. He directly put you into my life. I put all my faith in him and his guidance to you and with you through this process. In the end, I remember waking up from surgery immediately feeling very different. Those were tears of Joy in the recovery room. You have a special gift and in my case, someone greater than us agreed and brought us together so that your talent could give my wife and I our wonderful life back.  I will forever be grateful for your skills, your talent, and especially your compassion.

I love you more than you will ever know!

“I am very very grateful and feel very blessed to have found Dr. Osborne and all of you on his team.”

I wanted to take a moment to touch base and to update Dr. Osborne on my progress since my surgery. Today makes 6 weeks since my styloidectomy and I am starting to feel most of my face again.

I have started to eat more normally; my mouth is starting to remember what it’s supposed to be doing when I talk and laugh and smile, and I am starting to feel part of my ear again. My scar is healing very well and is not noticeable to anyone – including my mother (who is the hardest to impress).

I want to tell you that on August 30 I came to you with the following issues: loss of sight in my left eye, constant migraines, constant ringing in left ear, tingling in hands and feet, constant pain in my neck, brain fog, intense fatigue, memory loss, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, acid reflux ….. Almost all of these issues have been resolved since my surgery. I feel great. Better than I have in many years. And I am very very grateful and feel very blessed to have found Dr. Osborne and all of you on his team. I understand that I will likely need to have the right styloid removed in the near future and there is absolutely nowhere else I would ever want to go.

So, thank you again. Please let Dr. Osborne know how much I appreciate what he has done to help me.
Kind regards,

“Thank you to the entire OHNI for your kindness and great gentility throughout our experience with you.”

It has been a whirlwind of a week for us: right styloid – out, left styloid – gone. I am trying to get a hold on the week my life drastically and monumentally improved. I also don’t know how to thank you enough for humbly yet so confidently using the God-given talent of such intricate delicate care. May your soul find its worth always in Him and be filled with joy knowing you’re His instrument.

Thank you to the entire OHNI for your kindness and great gentility throughout our experience with you. You are an obviously well taken care of team – this shows in the care you show towards those in need. Blessings upon blessings to all of you.

Thank you from a very blessed girl,

“He literally is one of the greatest doctors and human beings that I’ve been so blessed to have. The staff is outstanding.”

I had been inflected with something that I couldn’t get diagnosed for. They ran a CT scan of my head, my neck, my chest,  and 2 barium tests to see if I could swallow. They were all negative. I was in and out of behavioral health 3 times. I couldn’t eat or swallow regular food so I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks, at home I could only drink ensures and liquids. I was always the black sheep at the behavioral health I went too. None of the staff nurses thought anything was wrong with me.

I talked to psychiatrists that said I would teach myself how to eat again and have quality of life. I went to an ENT specialist, he sent me to a TMJ specialist who did a 3D scan of my skeletal bones and discovered that my stylohoid bone in my neck was an inch longer than it should have been and asked why did I wait so long? I was taken back had I known this I certainly would have had it addressed but had no clue. I got online in San Diego and found another TMJ specialist, Dr. Martin Abelar. He took one look at the 3D picture and told me I had Eagle’s Syndrome which is very rare.

I got on google and look in California specialists and Dr. Ryan Osborne came up in Beverly Hills. So my fiance and I came up here and Dr. Osborne saved my life and my sanity. He literally is one of the greatest doctors and human beings that I’ve been so blessed to have. The staff is outstanding and Dr. Hamilton also. I thank God for them everyday. There’s a special place in heaven for all of them. Thank you so much, my fiance D. R. who was right by my side the whole time. The operation was a complete success I can live my life again.

“My experience pre-op, during surgery day, and post-op were all fantastic. You can tell Dr. Osborne and the team care deeply about their patients.”

I just wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for Dr. Osborne, Chris and the entire staff here at OHNI. Top notch team and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. When I got to know Dr. Osborne, I realized I wouldn’t want anyone else performing my surgery. “Surgery day was great. You guys made it easy and comfortable. I felt really cared for and protected.”

eagles syndrome patient testimonial

Dr. Osborne,

My wife and I prayed diligently for His wisdom in finding the right doctor to treat me. From our first video meeting with you, we knew He led us to you! Your kind, careful demeanor and patience to explain the process and answer all of our questions and concerns was impressive. Your entire staff made the preliminary process easy and efficient.

Surgery day was great. You guys made it easy and comfortable. I felt really cared for and protected. All of the careful follow up the first 2 days after surgery have been great as well. Your taking time to answer questions and set expectations was super helpful. It is just day 2 now, and I know I have a lot of healing to do, but I am flying back to Texas knowing that I have access to you and your team.

I am genuinely thankful to God for the wisdom and experience He has given you! I pray that God continues to bless you and your practice, so you can continue to be His hand extended for many more years!

All our best!

“Everyone here has been fantastic. I’m hopeful for the first time in forever.”

treatment for eagles syndrome

I’ve been dealing with this Eagle’s Syndrome for almost 3 years. I’ve seen over 20 doctors and been in the ER multiple times. It’s been a miserable 3 years and I went from being very active and in great shape to being overweight and miserable. Fortunately, I found the Hauser Neck Center in Florida and the tests they did led me to here. I had my left styloid removed 2 days ago and for the first time, in a long time, I don’t have pressure in my head. Everyone here has been fantastic. I’m hopeful for the first time in forever. Dr. Osborne has been…. well he’s been exactly who you’d hope he’d be.

I owe you all a debt of gratitude. A huge debt. Thank you for everything. You are doing God’s work. Keep it up.
